Agility not only provides exercise & strengthens the bond between dogs & their humans, but it also builds a dog's confidence, which can generalize to everyday activities. |
This course reinforces off-lead, vocal & hand-signal control and builds confidence and trust in both dog and human. Agility 1 can be taken just for the fun of it or to prepare for competition. This course is for those who have some off-lead, vocal control and have completed Basic Companion 2 or have instructor consent.
Owners learn the timing and signaling necessary to help their pets negotiate the obstacle course, which is modified for beginning dogs.
With the owners' guidance, dogs go through hula-hoops, rest on a low pause table, traverse a ground-level dog walk, walk along a lowered see-saw, weave around poles, go through expandable and collapse tunnels, climb and descend a lowered A-frame modified for beginning dogs.
- Agility classes are offered only at our Danvers location.
- Group classes are NOT designed to socialize aggressive dogs. Aggression issues must be addressed in private sessions.
- Classes are limited to 7 dogs.
